I’m a professional writer and editor, with over twenty-five years’ experience in the publishing and writing business.

I’ve published novels, short stories, articles and web-content during my career, so I’m uniquely placed to deliver top-quality writing services of all types. As editor, I’ve worked with all kinds of authors, from high-profile novelists, to journalists, scientists and leading doctors, editing a vast array of fiction and non-fiction projects.

Currently, my mission is to reach out to new and indie fiction writers, with whom I feel a special empathy. The world of writing and publishing has changed so much since I began my career, and while it’s easier than ever to see your work in print, the choices can seem endless and bewildering if you’re not ‘in the know’. I’m keen to help new and independent authors get a foothold, and with my vast experience—and the success I’ve achieved with my own writing—I can help any author realize their dreams.

I’m also a successful author in my own right, and I’ve been writing since I was eight years old, which is a long time ago. There have been a lot of novels and short stories between then and now. My novel Dark Places and my anthology Shadows and Dust have both been Amazon bestsellers, and my latest novel The Mysteries was released in 2017. My new novel, The Intermediate, has been long delayed by my devotion to editing, but it’s due for release in the autumn of 2020.

Before writing and editing for a living, I worked in the chemical and health industries, while moonlighting as a semi-pro musician. I worked as both a studio session guitarist and played in many bands, gigging all over the world, busking my way through everything from blues to jazz, rock to metal. The Art Company, a memoir about my time in a rock band in the 1980s, may well be published in 2018 . If my lawyers allow it . . .

These days, things are a lot more sedate, and I currently live near the ancient cathedral city of Durham in north-east England, with my wife Elaine, and Barney, a ferocious bear disguised as a Jack Russell.
